TENNENT’S RACENIGHT AT AYR
TENNENT’S Racenight At Ayr Racecourse this evening features a seven race card which gets under way at 5.55pm, with the Isle of Jura Amateur Riders’ Handicap over 1m 2f.
Haymarket, from the Mike Smith yard just 10 miles from the track at Galston, won this race two years ago and was second last year and has the help of top amateur Carol Bartley fresh from winning her weight in champagne for landing the Queen Mother’s Cup at York last week.
The Whyte & Mackay Handicap over 1m 2f handicap sees course specialist Glasses Up, a winner of three races here in 2018, make his seasonal debut for Mike Smith and jockey Paddy Mathers.
Half an hour later the Tennent’s Lager Handicap over a mile provides e Jim Goldie’s Tommy G with the opportunity for a quick fire course double having won at the track at our last meeting on May 28.
The final race on the card is the Magners Rose Handicap over 7f where the Ayr Racecourse Club owned Pudding Chare also tries to follow up his win here last month with another course success.
