HAMILTON PARK report
By Gordon Brown
HARMONICA was an 9/1 winner of the EBF Stallions Scottish Premier Series Fillies’ Handicap at Hamilton Park on Sunday.
Ridden by Ryan Tate and trained by Sir Mark Prescott the Newmarket raider saw off Pattie by a length and a quarter.
Tate, who is based with the winning trainer, said: “Her form is starting to look pretty good. She handled the track and the ground well.
“We’ve always thought a lot of her and this was another step in the right direction. I never really went for her until the final furlong and she had a fair bit left.
“This was my very ever ride here so it’s nice to have a 100 per cent record! I had a good walk round when I got here and I’d say it’s the stiffest course in the country but it’s in tremendous condition.”
What Wonders Weave landed the Hopes N Dreams Selling Stakes for the second year running, this time in the hands of Ronan Whelan.
And David Egan was another young jockey to ride his first winner at the Lanarkshire track when guiding Jamil to victory in the Always Trying Novice Stakes for Roger Varian.
