RASELASAD is one of six course and distance winners in the line up for the feature race at Musselburgh on Wednesday.
Tracy Waggott’s County Durham raider faces seven rivals including previous track scorers Glengarry, Tribal Warrior, Pepys, Jacob Black and How Bizzare, in the ROA Rewards Members handicap over seven furlongs.
Waggott said: “He operates well at places like Musselburgh and Catterick as he has lots of early speed and loves coming round a bend. He has a big weight but should run well if things go his way again.”
At Hamilton Park on Tuesday, Mark Johnston-trained Victory Command and P J McDonald landed the £30,000 Almada Mile Handicap by three-quarters of a length from fast finishing Nicholas T who may have been a tad unlucky after getting hampered approaching the final furlong.
McDonald said: “We didn’t have the best of runs either but a gap appeared and he stuck on gamely. He won four times last year and his form this season has been pretty good as he’s been running in very competitive races.”
The pair completed a quick-fire double when Mondain made a winning turf debut in the Hamilton Park Supporting Racing Staff Week Handicap.
Adrian Murray made his first trip to the Lanarkshire track a winning when the Irish trainer notched a 23-1 double with Jimmy Sullivan-ridden pair Blackstone Cliff and Rego Park Lady.
