IN-FORM Sean Quinlan bids for more success on Donna’s Diamond in the feature race at Kelso on Saturday.
The partnership team up again in the £20,000 Children’s Immunology Trust Novices’ Chase having impressed in similar company at the borders venue earlier this month.
Quinlan, who has ridden five winners since Boxing Day, said: “He stays well and the penny is gradually dropping with him. It was a good performance at Kelso last time and the step back up in trip should suit him. He was a Grade 2 winner as a hurdler and he has a bit of class about him.”
Having combined to land the Scottish Borders National at Kelso’s previous meeting, Rachael McDonald and Sandy Thomson are after more prize money with Geronimo in the Introducing Racing TV Handicap Chase.
Geronimo was successful a month ago at Ayr on just his second start over fences for his Greenlaw connections.
Among the rivals to Geronimo are Nick Alexander’s recent Carlisle winner Calivigny and Harriet Graham’s two-timer Borders National runner-up Scotswell.
