CROTCHET gained her second win of the season at Musselburgh when landing the feature race on Sunday.
Ridden by Connor Murtagh and trained by Richard Fahey, she saw off Fashion Theory by a length and a quarter by in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Scottish Premier Fillies’ Handicap.
Murtagh, a 5lb claimer based with the winning trainer, said: “They went very quick early on so I hung onto her as she was stepping up to a mile for the first time. She has plenty of speed and quickened up really well when I asked her.”
Linda Perratt was all smiles after Jordan Electrics scored at 11/1 in the Royal Scots Club Nursery Handicap under Ben Robinson.
The East Kilbride trainer said: “He’s got plenty of toe and enjoyed this better ground. It was a nervy finish as he only  held on by a short-head.”
And Ayrshire-born jockey Danny Tudhope completed a short-priced double on Nate The Great and Ocelot trained by Archie Watson and Robert Cowell respectively.
