JIM GOLDIE was in great form at Ayr on Monday when Jessie Allan and Rory supplied him with a stunning 388/1 double.
The former produced a 40/1 upset under Andrew Breslin in the Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap with the latter landing the Book For QTS Ladies Night Handicap for Paul Mulrennan just 35 minutes later.
Goldie said: “Jessie Allan loves it here and this is her third course and distance success. Six-furlong seems to be her trip as we’ve tried her at seven but she just doesn’t see it out.
“Rory was unlucky on his first handicap at Musselburgh last time as he ran into traffic problems and had no run through. He’s a big, raw horse and he’s named after one of my grandsons.”
There was another Scottish success on the six-race card when Merricourt, trained by Iain Jardine, scrambled home by a neck under Andrew Mullen in the concluding Ayrshire Cancer Support Handicap.
