Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.
Ramiro, trained in Malton by Brian Ellison, won a thrilling Ayr Gold Cup Trial from previous Bronze Cup hero Music Society.
Ridden by Ben Robinson and sent off at 13-2, the Yorkshire raider gained the upper hand close home to score by half a length.
“He’s not been with us that long and I thought today would be soon enough as he’d only run at Chester on Friday night,” said the winning jockey. “His wins in Ireland were all at seven-furlongs so he stays ok and this soft ground suits him as well.”

“She had a wind operation last year and the blinkers have also helped,” said the trainer’s son and assistant Callum. “She’s in great form and her confidence is high so we’re already planning to bring her back here next Monday.”
