NICK ALEXANDER stole the show at Ayr on Wednesday after saddling a fabulous 2,474-1 four-timer.

The Kinneston trainer struck with Ozzy Cosmo (14-1), Beat The Retreat (9-1), Cream Of The West (9-2) and Artic Row (2-1) at an additional meting that was scheduled to make up for recent abandonments in the north.

“I’m delighted for everyone involved as it’s very much a team effort,” Alexander said “It’s been a brilliant day for the yard as we’ve all been working pretty hard through some rotten weather so it’s great when we get a few winners

“All these horses are relatively unexposed so they should all hopefully go on and win more races if they can keep progressing. Things are going well and hopefully we can carry the form into Christmas and the New Year.”

Soft Risk defied a 628-day absence to win on his debut over fences in the Win Your Wedding At Western House Novices’ Handicap Chase.

“He jumped away fine and we’re obviously happy with that but we want him to be sound in the morning and over the next few days,” said winning trainer Nicky Richards. “We’ve always thought a lot of him and there might be a nice race for him in the spring with a bit of luck.”
