At Ayr yesterday, Sir Mark Prescott-trained Born Ruler was an impressive winner of the Kimberley Wyatt @ Scottish Sun Ladies Night Handicap.
Ridden by Callum Rodriguez, the well-backed 6/5 favourite, who holds an entry at York on the July 12th, slammed old rival Pol Roger by four-lengths.
“Ideally I wouldn’t have been so far back but he’s done the job really nicely,” the winning jockey reported. “We’ve made the ground up smoothly on the stands’ side and he’s gone through the line strong. He’s shown some solid, consistent form this season.”
Iain Jardine struck with Andrew Mullen-ridden Dingwall in the Glasgow Fair Family Raceday 15 July Handicap.
“He’s a horse we like and he’s still only three,” Jardine said. “He was a wee bit keen with the blinkers on at Hamilton Park last time and he settled better in the hood today.”
