Trained by Sir Mark Prescott, the evens favourite came from off the pace to beat Dark Moon Rising by a cosy three-parts of a length.

We Still Believe was given a nice ride by Andrew Mullen to win the Book For The Ayr Gold Cup Handicap for Dumfriesshire trainer Daragh Bourke.

“I’d watched some of his previous runs so I tried to get him nicely switched off over this longer trip and give him no excuses,” Mullen said. “He’s done it well in the end and it should have done his confidence good as well.”
