Nick Alexander was the trainer to follow on Friday at Ayr where he saddled a 23-1 treble with Hombre De Guerra, Cancan and Artic Row.
“It’s a course we always seem to do well at and we’ve had four-timer and a five-timer here before,” the Kinneston handler said.
“Hombre De Guerra is a lovely young prospect for the future and he benefited from the better ground. I’m delighted for his owners as he is a home-bird horse.
“Cancan was enjoying her swansong as she’s now returning to France where she will become a broodmare. We always knew she’s go back there one day and it’s nice that she has retired on a winning note.
“Artic Row loves Ayr as he’s never won anywhere else but I don’t think there is anything left for him here this season. His target is likely to be the Go North Finals at Carlisle next month providing the ground is okay.”
Sandy Thomson and Ryan Mania teamed up to land the Virgin Bet Cheltenham Festival Money Back Handicap Chase.
“He jumps well and he stays so we might look at something like the Highland National at Perth later in the spring,” Thomson said.
