JONNY PEATE rode his first course winner at Hamilton Park on Saints & Sinners night aboard Show Me Show Me in the Patersons Of Greenoakhill Handicap over five-furlongs.
The 11/8 favourite missed several lengths at the start but recovered in great style to see off Ventura Flame by three-quarters of a length.
Peate said: “I got to know this horse well as I spent some time at the Richard Fahey stable during the school holidays when I was younger. He handled the drop back in trip well and he was a very good two-year-old – luckily he recaptured some of that form tonight.”
Platinumcard sprung an 80/1 upset for in-form Carluke trainer Keith Dalgleish in the PDM Builders Scotland Maiden Stakes.
Winning jockey Billy Garritty said: “He has experience over hurdles and in bumpers and that helped. They went a good gallop and I brought him up the centre of the track for the better ground.”
Celtic Empress bounced back into the Hamilton Park winners’ enclosure after securing the Captain JC Stewart Fillies’ Handicap for Irvine-born jockey Danny Tudhope.
Trained in Yorkshire by David O’Meara, the 7/2 joint second favourite beat Mere Green by three-quarters of a length.
