Kelso – Report 29th November 2023

Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

After Kelso successfully went ahead following three inspections, Nick Alexander and Bruce Lynn were on the mark with a 44-1 double supplied by Niceandeasy and Gypsy Lee Rose.

Niceandeasy made most of the running in the Racing TV Returned To Profits Handicap Hurdle while Gypsy Lee Rose came from off the pace to land he concluding Racing TV Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase.

“We had a couple of horses that ran moderately earlier on but it’s turned out to be a pretty decent day,” Alexander said. “Niceandeasy has winning form over fences and would have been placed in the Borders National last year if he hadn’t fallen at the second last.”

Hawick trainer Donald Whillans was struck with Eden Mill in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle under Craig Nichol.

“He ran a great race here just over a fortnight ago and it’s nice to see him gain that first win – he should hopefully go on from this,” said the winning jockey.
