Russell struck at Musselburgh on Tuesday when Dain Ma Nut In saw her reach a century of winners at the east of Scotland track.
The Oisin Orr-ridden 13/8 chance was an impressive scorer in the Racing TV Restricted Maiden Stakes.
“We’ve had a lot of winners at Musselburgh in recent years but funnily enough it used to be a place where we didn’t have much luck,” said Russell, whose tally consists of 95 jumps winners and five on the level.
Other Scottish success came after Linda Perratt stuck with 50/1 outsider Hard Nut while Jim Goldie was on the mark with home-bred Braes Of Doune.
