Musselburgh – Report 28th November 2024

Gordon Brown – Race Reporter

Gordon has a wealth of experience of racing through his background in the written and broadcast media. His current principle role is reporting and supporting the scene in Scotland on Racing TV and relaying the latest news with Scottish angles.

Lucinda Russell saddled the one-two in the Athelstaneford Home Of The Saltire Juvenile Maiden Hurdle as Melinda led home stable companion Johnny Ringo at Musselburgh yesterday.

Paul Robson saddled his first winner as a trainer at the track  when Craig Nichol-ridden Okavango Delta stormed home in the Racing TV Profits Returned To Racing Novices’ Handicap Chase.

The well-backed 4/1 favourite saw off Divas Dozen by two and a half lengths.

“He had the measure of a few of these from Kelso last time and the flatter track and longer trip suited him much better today,” Robson said.

Sandy Thomson struck in the concluding Musselburgh Racecourse Premium Annual Membership Handicap Hurdle with Ryan Mania-ridden Top Man Tom.
