AL ZARAQAAN impressed at Musselburgh as he extended his winning sequence to four in the Racing Profits Retunred To Racing Handicap Hurdle.
Ridden by Gavin Sheehan and trained by Archie Watson he skipped over the last on is way to slamming Socialist Agenda by three-lengths.
Sheehan said: “They go very quick round here don’t they! I wasn’t sure if he was handling the ground on our way to the start but he didn’t mind it in the race itself and he coped fine with the track.”
Derek Fox struck on his only ride of the day when Lucinda Russell-trained Diamond State was left clear by the exit of Masked Crusader at the last in the Join Racing TV Novices’ Handicap Chase.
Fox said: “The other horse was going well but my fellow kept finding. He seems to like the track and I think he’ll be suited by a step up in trip.”
Sandy Thomson kept his good run going with Coolbane Boy in the 100% Racing TV Profits Back To Racing Handicap Hurdle.
Partnered by Ryan Mania, the Greenlaw raider rallied to pip Schalke by a head and his trained said: “We were a little concerned about the ground and he’s a horse that has had one or two issues.”
