Stringtoyourbow, a first runner at Musselburgh for Bridgend trainer Christian Willliams, stormed home in the feature race.
Ridden by Sean Quinlan, the 9/2 chance saw off One More Stroke by four-lengths in the Virgin Bet Novices’ Handicap Chase.
“He had a injury earlier in his career and I had given up on him but the owners always kept the faith and they’ve been rewarded for their patience,” said Williams. “We spotted this meeting and the ground was lovely so we came up with three horses. Credit to the staff for organising the transport for a long road journey and I’ve had the easy part flying up from Bristol to Edinburgh.”
Lucinda Russell struck with Prince Of Perth, ridden by Conner McCann, in the Virgin Bet Daily Extra Places Handicap Hurdle.
“He’s a big, tall lovely horse and this longer trip suited him,” said McCann after his fifth success at the East Lothian venue.
