TRISTAN DAVIDSON is chasing some Ayr prize money with hi Hamilton Park specialist Iris Dancer in the Virgin Bet Handicap over six-furlongs.
The feature contest, the penultimate action on the level in 2023 north of the border, is part of a seven-race card, which brings down the curtain on the Flat campaign at Scotland’s premier venue.
Cumbria-based Davidson said: “Iris Dancer certainly loves coming up that Hamilton hill and she has won five times there. However she was placed twice at Ayr last year and has also ran well elsewhere too.”
Opposition to Iris Dancer includes Richard Fahey-trained Admiral D, David O’Meara’s Ascot Adventure and Abduction for Jim Goldie.
The afternoon gets underway with the ultra-competitive Virgin Bet Apprentice Handicap staged over 1m 2f.
Pierre Louis-Jamin, who rode his first Ayr winner earlier this year, is an interesting booking for Gemma Tutty’s Bushfire, a winner on the Tapeta surface at Southwell in early September.
Michael Dods is a great supporter of the Craigie course and he saddles Hills Of Gold in the Virgin Bet Daily Extra Places Handicap.
The Darlington raider returns to handicap company after going close twice in maiden events at Carlisle and Redcar last month.
