BIG MONEY ON OFFER AT AYR
Ayr Racecourse stages the seven race Summer Raceday tomorrow (Saturday) with more than £150,000 in prizemoney on offer.
The highlight is the £55,000 Russell ‘Rusty Boy’ Smith Irish Stallion Farms EBF Land O’ Burns Fillies’ Stakes, Class 1 Listed Race over the minimum trip of five furlongs.
Karl Burke has two runners here one of which is Lullaby Bay going for her fourth successive win over this trip. One of her previous successes was last time out at Ayr and although that was only a Class 4 contest and Saturday’s is a Listed Race she has shot up the weights having started her run of wins off 65 which is 21lbs lower than her current mark.
The main supporting race is the Weddings At Western House Hotel Handicap for the Winton Cup, a Class 2 race over 1m 5f and Iain Jardine’s Ravenscraig Castle who won over course and distance albeit in lesser company last July could be the one in this with stable jockey Midge Mullen riding.
There is a decent seven furlong contest – the Bridgend Motor Group Handicap for the Johnstone Rose Bowl and John Quinn’s Truly Aclaimed who won a big runner handicap at York last month can go close again.
