SEE MY BABY JIVE, a £2,500 bargain buy trained near Hawick by Donald Whillans, is dancing towards a fourteen-day course and distance hat-trick at Ayr on Monday.
The in-form mare, set to be partnered for the first time by Danny Tudhope, faces thirteen rivals in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap under a 4lb penalty for her latest neck success a week ago.
Whillans’ son and assistant Callum said: “She’s in unbelievable form and this race was the obvious target as it’s exactly the same conditions as her previous two wins. The blinkers have obviously helped her and you’d have to say she should go close again.”
Course and distance form is also boasted by Mike Smith’s pair Chookie Dunedin and Earn Your Stripes while recent Carlisle scorer Gentle Ellen won her maiden at Ayr over this same 6f trip for David and Nicola Barron last August.
Ayrshire-born Tudhope also rides Dorothy Lawrence in the Clipper Logistics colours for Karl Burke in the Irish EBF Maiden Stakes.
The Yorkshire-trained filly takes a significant drop in class following two solid placed Listed race efforts at York in May and Chantilly in early June.
