Ayr Racecourse stages a seven race card this evening with the Platinum Jubilee Raceday due off at 4.50pm.
The opening race is the Braemar Novice Stakes over six furlongs for two year olds where five unraced juveniles line up including the Kevin Ryan trained Hernan Cortes who cost connections 180,000 Euros.
The Jim Goldie trained Graces Quest bids to follow up her Musselburgh win earlier in the month when she lines up in the Royal Mile Handicap over 1m 2f with Paul Mulrennan taking the ride. In the same race Linda Perratt runs Chinese Spirit, a winner at Carlisle on Friday, with young apprentice Gianluca Sanna taking the mount.
The feature race is the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Handicap over a mile and this looks a wide open affair with Tommy G a winner nine days ago at Musselburgh representing Jim Goldie and Paul Mulrennan. David O’Meara runs two in this Star Shield and course and distance winner Cosmos Raj while PJ McDonald is an interesting jockey booking on the Mike Smith trained Tilsitt.
The last race on the card is the Queen’s Green Canopy Handicap over 7f and an interesting runner here is the Iain Jardine trained Novak having his first run since January.
