GRANT TUER has his eye on Tuesday £20,000 feature race at Hamilton Park with recent Carlisle scorer Bellarchi.
The filly, who scrambled home by a head on Friday, is one of six declarations for the Gartcraig Inn Always A Warm Welcome 2-Y-O Series Final Nursery Handicap.
“She battled on well after being headed at Carlisle,” the Yorkshire trainer said. “She’s very speedy and was only beaten a nose in a qualifier for this series back in the summer.”
Bellarchi carries the colours of the Nick Bradley Racing Syndicate, who are also represented by Chumbaa and Indication Call trained by Roger Fell and Sean Murray and Karl Burke respectively.
The South Lanarkshire venue’s final evening card of the year sees Hollie Doyle have the first of her two rides aboard Archie Waton-trained Gladly Ever After in the Hamilton Park EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.
Creative Style, also trained by the Lambourn handler, is her other mount in the Willie Paterson OBE Memorial Fillies’ Handicap with her course strike-rate already a heathy 40 per cent from just five previous rides.
Spectacular Style, a relation of 2,000 Guineas hero Golan, who cost 625,000gns as a yearling, will go off at pretty cramped odds for Newmarket trainer Roger Varian in the PMS Recruitment Services & Azure Global Novice Stakes.
Varian, successful in the 2017 Glasgow Stakes with Defoe, has saddled 14 winners from his 36 runners (39 per-cent) at Hamilton Park.
