THE FAMOUS royal blue silks of Godolphin are carried by two horses trained by Saeed bin Suroor at Hamilton Park on Tuesday.
First up is Lubna in the Hamilton Book Our Onsite Hotel Ferniegair Handicap followed by Stunning Beauty in the afternoon’s feature race, the £30,000 Hamilton Stay At Hampton By Hilton Almada Mile Handicap.
They will be the first runners at the Lanarkshire track for Newmarket-based bin Suroor since 2019 and he has previous saddled six course winners at a strike-rate of 26 per-cent.
Lubna, the daughter of a 1,000 Guineas runner-up, shoulders top-weight of 9st 13lb which includes a penalty for a runaway eight and a half length romp in maiden company at Brighton recently.
Stunning Beauty created controversy 13-days ago at Royal Ascot when 7/1 third favourite for the Kensington Palace Handicap. She was pulled up and dismounted soon after the start after losing many lengths due to her blindfold coming off very late.
Her rivals today include last week’s Carlisle Bell hero Chichester, trained by Keith Dalgleish and jointly-owned by Hamilton Park chairman Sir Ian Good and his daughter Catriona.
