CHARLOTTE JONES is looking forward to being reunited with recent impressive course winner Secret Secret at Kelso on Wednesday.
Trained on the hill overlooking Cartmel racecourse by Jimmy Moffat, the South Lakeland raider faces thirteen rivals in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Hurdle over almost 2m 5f.
“He done well since coming to us and he won very nicely over course and distance in a race where we missed a few hurdles because of the low sun,” Jones said. “He won on his first run for us at Cartmel in August and you can put a line through the race at Carlisle as it was such a messy start.”
Secret Secret has been raised 11bs for his 14-length romp and the main opposition could bee in the shape of Bouncing Bobby and Hattons Gardens.
The former, trained by Martin Todhunter, was a winner on the Flat at Hamilton Park this summer and came a close second at Hexham 19-days ago while Sandy Thomson’s Hattons Gardens is equipped with a tongue-tie and cheekpieces for his first run of the season.
The card gets underway with Lucinda Russell introducing £80,000 winning point to point recruit Fiveafterfour in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle.
Young Buster, who made a winning debut over fences at Warwick back in the spring, represents Paddy Brennan and Fergal O’Brien in the Follow @RacingTV On X Novices’ Handicap Chase.
