George Bewley is after more Kelso success on Saturday with Breaking The Ice in the extended 2m 5f feature race.
Trained near Appleby, the Cumbrian raider faces seven rivals for the £20,000 Paxtons No 1 Kverneland Machinery & Spares Wishing Well Handicap Chase.
Bewley said: “He won three races over fences at Kelso about this time year so he certainly goes alright on the track. He also jumped well on his comeback run at Hexham last month so we’re hoping for another big run and I think he will run very well.”
Dalyotin, ridden by dual champion jockey Brian Hughes, runs for the first time since an impressively strike at Sedgefield in early March while Broadway Joe, a Kelso winner last October over 2m 1f,represents Nick Alexander, who landed a treble at Ayr seven days ago.
Hughes also rides for Rebecca Menzies in the Racing TV Novices’ Hurdle aboard Ballyporeen, who was just pipped by a head at Wetherby last month.
Like her late father Malcolm, Rush Jefferson is a great supporter of Kelso and she saddles Edmond Dantes, a close fourth over course and distance a fortnight ago, in the Ian Anderson Memorial Handicap Chase (Go North One Man Series Qualifier).
