STEPHEN MULQUEEN is looking forward to more success abroad Rapid Raider at Musselburgh on Monday.
The Lucinda Russell-trained seven-year-old faces eight rivals in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap Chase over just short of three miles as he bids to complete a hat-trick of wins.
Mulqueen said: “He’s just been a different horse since he had wind surgery and a lot of that credit must go to his owners. He was very nearly going to be retired but his form has been transformed and that includes those back-to-back wins at Bangor and Ayr.”
Also on a hat-trick is Iain Jardine’s mare Tokaramore following her wins at Cartmel in late August and Hexham on October 1st.
Jardine is double-handed as he saddles stable companion Lastofthecosmics while Six One Nine was runner-up over hurdles at Musselburgh in February last year.
The most valuable race on the card is the £10,000 Watch On Racing TV Novices’ Handicap Chase, which sees Nick Alexander’s Broadway Joe try for his three-timer after wins at Kelso and over course and distance.
