Lucinda Russell, who has saddled a combined total of 100 winners over jumps and on the Flat at Musselburgh, has her eye on the East Lothian venue’s feature event on Wednesday.

Rory The Cat, ridden by locally-born Andrew Mullen,  and Archie Young-ridden Two Auld Pals, represent the Kinross handler in the £20,000 Portobello Cup Handicap, which at 2m 2f, is the longest race staged on the Flat in Scotland.

The former, a comfortable course winner over 1m 6f nineteen-days ago, also stuck twice over hurdles at Musselburgh in November and January last season.

Rivals to the Russell duo include Simple Star and Yorkindness, who were second and third last year with the first-named only pipped by a neck.
