RED MISSILE bids to supply Lucinda Russell with her first Flat winner at Musselburgh in the feature race on Monday night.
The four-year-old Kinross raider is among the line-up for the £12,000 Bet At Racing TV.Com Handicap over 1m 5f.
Although Russell has saddled seventy winners over jumps at the East Lothian venue, she has never been closer than second with her sixty previous course runners on the level.
Red Missile was a winner for Newmarket trainer William Haggas at Lingfield in August last year before changing hands at the sales shortly afterwards for 38,000gns.
He is now owned by Michael & Lady Jane Kaplan, whose famous primrose and rose colours were carried to Derby success no less than five times on horses owned and bred by her grandfather and great-grandfather.
Rivals to Red Missile include Keith Dalgleish-trained top-weight Let Me Be, on a hat-trick following wins earlier this month at Ayr and Pontefract and also a scorer at Musselburgh in April.
Also in the line-up is Sarvi, a winner over hurdles at Musselburgh just before Christmas for Saturday’s Northumberland Plate-winning trainer Jim Goldie.
