Katie Scott is targeting the feature race at Musselburgh with her Galashiels raider Curious Rover.
The three-year-old makes the journey up the A7 for the £20,000 Bernard Hunter Mobile Cranes Handicap over five-furlongs.
“He didn’t show as much speed when we first got him so his first race was over seven-furlongs but obviously he’s a sprinter now,” Scott said. “We had a lot of of fun with him as a two-year-old and he’s gone close on his last runs – particularly in a competitive race at York last time – so he’s due another win.”
Curious Rover is 4lbs ‘well in’ as his rating is set to go up in light of that neck defeat a week ago and his main threat this time may come from Cover Point, who is being tried in cheekpieces on his fourth run since joining Julie Camacho from the William Haggas stable.
Callum Rodriguez, who rides Cover Point, is also on board likely favourite Music History in the opening 8 Million Stories Classic Nursery Handicap.
The Ed Bethell-trained filly shoulders a 6lbpenalty for her impressive handicap debut success over course and distance ten-days ago.
