BROADWAY JOE bids to extend his winning sequence to four in the £12,000 Betway Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at Musselburgh on Monday.
The Nick Alexander-trained gelding began his successful spree at Kelso on October before gaining back-to-back course and distance victories in November and December.
As a result his handicap mark has soared from 95 to118 and Alexander said: “He’s in great form and progressing nicely but this is a set up in class. The horses are certainly running well so fingers crossed.”
Kakamora, trained by Tom George and an impressive winner over hurdles at last year’s Perth festival, was a 13-length third on his chasing bow at Wincanton a fortnight ago.
And top Musselburgh combination, Brian Hughes and Donald McCain, are represented by Mackenberg, who has placed form over hurdles at the East Lothian venue
